A Decade in the Vault: Fallout Shelter Hits 230M Downloads

Bethesda Game Studios has unveiled that Fallout Shelter, the popular mobile-first vault-building game, has reached an impressive 230 million downloads in the ten years since its release. This milestone was announced as the game celebrated its 10th anniversary, with Bethesda setting up a special in-game event and giveaways to commemorate the occasion.

Fallout Shelter

Since its launch in June 2015, Fallout Shelter has become the most downloaded game in the Fallout franchise. Its free-to-play casual nature has contributed to its massive popularity, allowing it to surpass Fallout 4, which has garnered around 25–30 million downloads since November 2015.

To celebrate this significant milestone, Bethesda Game Studios is offering players a range of in-game rewards for logging in during specific dates. From June 16–17, players can receive Lunchbox x2, Pet Carrier x1, and Nuka x10. On June 18–19, the rewards increase to Lunchbox x3, Mr. Handy x1, and Nuka x15. Finally, from June 20–21, players can claim Lunchbox x5, Pet Carrier x1, and Nuka x20.

These in-game items provide players with various advantages, such as speeding up actions and completing tasks more efficiently. For example, Nuka Cola Quantum allows users to accelerate actions, making the game more rewarding and enjoyable.

Fallout Shelter’s enduring popularity can be attributed to its passive gameplay and the ability to enjoy it in short bursts. Once players start building their vault, they might find themselves invested in the game for years to come.
